Performance Art

https://youtu.be/egm88L2Q0kg This project took place around lunchtime on a Friday near a cluster of corporate offices in downtown Tampa. The purpose was to try to brighten people's days on their lunch breaks before the weekend by giving them something to smile and laugh at. Millennials and Generation X-ers rank as the two most stressed groups according to the American Psychology Association's 2015 study. On average, Gen X scores a 5.8 out of 10, and Millenials score an average of 6.0, based on the APA stress scale. Everyone knows the negative consequences of stress, but it's nearly impossible to avoid it for most people. One person appreciated it so much that after he ordered his food, he asked me if I had eaten lunch yet (I hadn't), and got me some food. I was kind of dreading this project but I ended up really enjoying it.

Xerox Project

I wanted to create some sort of shadowy, demon-like creature coming out of a wall. I liked how the black and white scans make a foggy look on the paper, and by moving my body parts around while the scan took place, I was able to distort them in discomforting ways.

Pixel Project

For my pixel project, I decided to make something from a videogame, but the majority of the characters were unrecognizable when put into a 30x30 grid. I was able to find a picture of Chain Chomp from the Mario series that broke down well, with some tweaking. Despite the difficulties with the source image, I think it is still relatively clear as to what it is.
